I don't agree with that statement. Nothing has changed; we're unable to use Launchpad as an OpenID provider in any meaningful way. I think the problem has been fairly well articulated, as well as two possible solutions you could implement that would work with Launchpad's multiple-id-per-user scheme.

To answer Robert's question directly, yes, Gerrit supports multiple OpenID providers per user. If I had a way to know what those were, I could use them. So a user -> N*OpenID_identifiers mapping would be ideal.
