Symptoms
========
Visit any Launchpad team mailing list archive page, or archived message page.
Most of the launchpad UI widgets and facilities are missing.
An example page with the problem showing is <http://lists.launchpad.net/ayatana>.
Cause
=====
This is because mhonarc, our archiver, generates static files on disk and it is very time consuming to give it more of our look and feel : to do so currently involves porting it to zope or reimplementing our UI.
Solutions
=========
We are looking at giving our rendering engine reliable access to additional data sources over-and-above the postgresql database. This if combined with a mhonarc change to output structured data rather than html would allow us to integrate mhonarc into our main UI, no reimplementation needed. |
