We managed to catch 2 processes in near memory run-away mode earlier today on codehost.

is a ps(1) view over time of one of the two. Note the peak RSS usage of ~ 18.5Gb.
When killed; both were around 13Gb of RSS and causing swap alerts.

This would suggest that an alternate wording for the title of this bug may be necessary. 'excessive' doesn't seem to quite capture the full horror. ;-)
