Just to mention, the fixes won't be in the 2.1.0b1 release, but will be
in 2.1.0b2. There has been a fair amount of fallout between different
platforms, etc. So I'm going to be conservative and land it at the
beginning of 2.1.0b2, rather than at the end of 2.1.0b1.
