Bug Description

The karma total caches are not updated in a single transaction and generating them takes quite a while to run. You may see inconsistent results if you view your karma report during the batch process run, or until the next successful run completes if it aborted for some reason.

We could fix this by building the caches in a holding area and swapping them into place, but to be honest I doubt it is of high enough priority to get looked at.

Maybe not, but Launchpad still shouldn't show some numbers and then pretend to show a "total" of those numbers that actually isn't.

There are at least a couple of other ways we could fix this. We could show your current karma using a word other than "Total". Or we could hide the category subtotals completely. Or we could present karma using a non-numeric scale...

I ran into this today too... LP Karma tells me that 355 + 0 = 393.

While I understand why it's doing this, it does look rather odd.
