I'm running similar requests on Fedora and I can't seem to reproduce this. I'm wondering if the underlying version of python-lxml is also part of what is causing the problems.

[root@nova1 ~]# rpm -qi python-lxml
Name : python-lxml
Version : 2.3.3

Which version are you guys using?
