@jam and I were just talking yesterday about using overlays as a solution for deploy specific bits and encouraging that by possibly having export-bundle starting to include an overlay section by default. In this way we could do something like have CMR output a SaaS URL that is generic, but include the site specific bits, like the IP of the controller, uuid, etc as part of an overlay. If it was redeployed it would check that but if you removed the overlay section the bundle is "generic".

I wonder if something like that would work here where you could export the storage bits in the overlay section and folks could use it/not use it and the rest of the bundle stands solid.
