Does this mean that the explicit container request was for the "undefined"
space, which is what Juju was passing along to MAAS ?

I agree with "don't treat the undefined space as a real space" from Mike.
If you want to put containers/machines into a space, it needs to be a
defined one (it can be defined as the public open space, but it should have
*some* sort of definition).
