Based on tests with archived builds (on OS X 10.7.5):
- not reproduced with Inkscape 0.48.5 r10040,
- not reproduced with lp:inkscape rev <= 12487,
- reproduced with lp:inkscape rev >= 12488,
- reproduced with Inkscape 0.91 r13725, 0.92.0 r15299;
this is likely the same issue as tracked in
Known workaround for fonts which trigger these (among other factors zoom-dependent) artifacts with Inkscape's renderer (also affects bitmap export): once the text content is determined and styled as intended, convert the text to path (Shift+Ctrl+C). If later edits are to be expected, keep a copy of the original text on a hidden layer.
