Almost all tutorials give outdated information that needed to be fixed. And the only way for trunk users to see (and comment?) the changes now is having them in the trunk, even if they are not fully translated (yet). And if no translator chimes up for some of the tutorials, I feel it's ok to have some untranslated (but accurate) strings in them.

Agreed. As far as I can tell, that's exactly what's planned.
