This is not the place to rant. If ranting actually got any results, then I would be ranting myself.
The reason I use Ubuntu is because despite the (admittedly) really shitty bus like this one, I still prefer it to Windows and Mac OS X is too expensive.
Not only that, but the fact that it's open-source inherently means that you can never be locked-in, and that's the killer feature for me. It may be shit, and these bugs may be fail, but at least I have the option to use something else if I ever do get annoyed enough.
Don't get me wrong, these bugs are bad, but Ubuntu has a lot of great things going for it too. I'm really enjoying the lightweightedness and the super fast startup. I love VLC, and MythTV and the fact I've been able to customize the shit out of it.
I also firmly believe that one day this bug will actually be fixed..
