Comment 30 for bug 190848

The special rules in /etc/fonts/conf.avail/53-monospace-lcd-filter.conf are there because some developers were vehemently against making the change to the new subpixel rendering.
The file is a compromise they accepted since they work mainly in terminals anyway.

Not really a bug. It's intentional.
