It does about the same as XDG_CURRENT_DESKTOP="". Instead of remaining black, basically nothing gets drawn. The inside of the window just shows my desktop wallpaper.
(I think XDG_CURRENT_DESKTOP="" shows a titlebar, and MOZ_GTK_TITLEBAR_DECORATION=system doesn't).
