Known workaround (for the "highly computer literate"):

Print into some "virtual printer"
that accepts letter page size and generates PDF,
start some PDF viewer on the output,
set the page size to A4 in the PDF viewer, and "shrink page to fit paper",
print.

There must be a better workaround.
How can I set the page size for one single print job?
