I don't agree. Simple Scan is very pleasant, and makes the pain of scanning things for regular users manageable.

The whole idea of being simple, for novice users, falls flat when you have to install it.
Most people do not think or find scanning to be easy, and aren't aware of Simple Scan.
Serving it to them is very fruitful, because it reflects upon the experience of elementary OS.

Advanced users can, in tune with simplicity, remove Simple Scan.
