As a workaround, delete duplicity-full.20160402T104304Z.vol1.difftar to get past this, I believe. (you have both a gzip version and an unpacked version)
Not sure why this is occuring... I'll assign to duplicity -- I think this is an older bug, but I couldn't find it when searching.
