cosmetic: Text mode in Classic has no caret at the start of a line

Bug Description
In the Classic theme in version 0.7.98 when in text mode i initially see just a black box with no blinking caret to tell me i could enter text.
Once i begin typing the caret is visible.
If i press shift+enter for a new line the caret is again no longer visible.
