I made a duplicate issue, but having read the comments here I can add that it seems/feels to happen when:
- launching an application that creates an opengl context or something that triggers the desktop turning off the compositor (for example me developing an opengl application)
- screen lock due to inactivity. (not sure if happens on lock out or logging back in though)
- abnormally high gpu usage (ie running something very gpu intensive by mistake when programming)
So it might be finally solved?
