Comment 20 for bug 232557

Just to inform that I have the problem under Ubuntu 8.04 (desktop).
After 11 days of uptime ps axu gives
root 6062 0.0 4.7 107924 98684 ? Ssl Sep15 2:38 /usr/sbin/console-kit-daemon

Moreover, the only cure that works for me is reboot (after having killed console-kit-daemon I cannot get it back again).

Notice that the rather confused discussion in https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/consolekit/+bug/148454 contains quite a few examples of the same memory leak problem.

Maybe at least a hint how to restart the program?
