apologies if this is not what this bug is about but i don't have the context from 2+ years ago when it was in openstack-manuals

the actual metadata stored is not explicit in all cases so we could only do this for a subset of meters.

marking this as low priority as this info is visible in gnocchi and all the transform capabilities are actually better handled there.
