While travelling, after switching off the Airplane mode, r23 is searching local GSM networks for a long time, but when the list of local providers is finally created, can't connect neither automatically nor manually to any of them. The only way to get connected to the local GSM providers is to restart the phone. If that is done, the connection is made automatically and fast.
