Bug Description

It is know two weeks i am mixing with Mixxx and i am really feeling there is something with the pitch precision.

I always mix with software without the sync (Mixvibes DVS, Producer, Deejaysystem ...) and it will be now 12 years i am mixing.
So my beatmatching is good.

I am using a keyboard and a external mixer.

I am generally using a 0.01 precision to mix, with Mixxx i have setup to 0.02. This is really good.

This is what i have tested until know.

Directsound different samplerate and latency, Asio different samplerate and latency.

Windows 7 X64, Windows 7 X86 and Windows XP X86 SP3. A laptop and a desktop.

The only thing which has worked is to play the same song in A and B and at the same position and with the same pitch. That is totally perfect beatmatching and it remains it also. This is the only case where also the beatgrid is perfect.

I don't know if i am wrong and if not i don't know how to demonstrate this issue but i am really not having the feelings i have on other softwares.

If you need any other info or test, don't hesitate, i'll be glad to help.

Which version of Mixxx are you using, and are you using key lock or vinyl-style pitch control? Versions before 1.10-beta have an older version of the vinyl pitch-scaling code which had a habit of eating samples, causing sync issues. If you're using 1.9, try the 1.10 beta and see if there is an improvement: http://builds.mixxx.org/builds/release-1.10.x/

Hello,

I am using the latest version of Mixxx. Even i am now better in long transitions with Mixxx (Changes to Asio4all) i have really faced some strange feelings about the pitch. I am only mixing with the keyboard and external mixer.

I'll be glad to test the beta.

I keep you updateed.

Hello,

You can close my Bug report.

With the 1.1 Beta it works way better, i think i needed some time to get used to this Software.

If you have any new Beta, how can we be informed about it ?

Thanks.

Gontran.

Hi Gontran,

If you like, you can subscribe to our mailing list:
https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/mixxx-devel. It is used
for development, but it's fairly low-traffic and we announce betas
there.
