I just tried HomeBank and it looks like a great software but portfolio management is missing.
Is it planned to add this functionnality ?

This would be a nice fetaure. I use a regular account to track my stock portfolio for a couple of years now and its not very nice. I generally update every week creating a trasaction adding or subtracting the total fluctuation of the stocks... quite annoying but does the trick.
Cant wait for this feature to be implemented.
The automatic update would be nice, but as a option. I dont mind updating the stock value by hand, especially since the computer I run homebank on does not have internet connection.

In case folks are not aware of it already, check out jStock for a cross-platform tool to manage investment accounts. In order for Home Bank to manage accounts of this type effectively it would need to implement most/all of that tool's functions. A key strength of Home Bank for me at this point is the excellent balance between simplicity and function/utility. jStock is at http://jstock.org .

I'm seeking a software who manage SSP account type.

Without going into complexity of this type of product or jstock, it would be interesting to be able to manage:
   - a liquidity account
   - investments
° use funds on the liquidity account
° prices can be setted and updated manually

I hope this can be considered.
Thanks again for the super awesome software :)

Stock-Quote Updates would be very nice. But creating a Portfolio-Account where i would be able to enter Stocks would be essential.

Would be so useful :)

This would be a useful feature. A few notes:

- There appear to be plenty of free stock ticker APIs which should make real-time account valuation relatively easy.

- This feature should be written in a generic way such that it could also be used to implement cryptocurrency accounts (multiple currencies) or wallets (single currency).

Hello,

Any update on this ? at least a version where you can manually add stocs (auto-update can be added later),

it's pretty much the only functionality missing from the great piece of software that is HomeBank.

completely necessary in today's word where having stocks and mutual funds is pretty normal. It is the only feature that is stoping me to move from GnuCash (great software but little bit to complicated for my family needs)

It would be great to be able to manage also precious metals (such as gold, silver, etc.), the same way currencies are managed (this is actually the way I am currently doing, but I have to manually change the price regularly while currency are automatically updated).
Of course, I believe users might have different preferences on the units to use (g/oz/etc.), which would make it slightly different than a normal currency.

I just found HomeBank, and I am excited that it has the group feature! I have searched for this feature for many years.

However, I also need to be able to track stocks and mutual funds. Manual entry is OK for me.

Is that a feature that may be implemented within the next few months?

I also think that HomeBank is amazing. The only feature missing is the tracking of cryptocurrency, shares and investments etc.

Auto-updates would be a great addition, but not that big a deal.

Is this something that you are considering adding?

Homebank is great for home finances and Maxime has enough on this hands for this purpose (looking forward to the save reports feature!). I would suggest to those that want to track stocks, crypto etc that they use a separate program and I would highly recommend PortfolioPerformance (https://www.portfolio-performance.info/en/).
I use Homebank for home finance and PortfolioPerformance for investments and I could not be happier. They are both excellent programs that excel in their respective tasks. I am from New Zealand and I quite like having a finance program from France and an investment program from Germany!

Hi, and thank you for your reply.
I took a look at Portfolio Performance you recommended, but it is far more complicated than I require. All I am looking for is something where I can store and update my various transactions. The reason I say I am looking for something simpler is that I only have 7 different currencies with a total so far of about 40 transactions.
Is there anything less complicated you can recommend, please?

Many thanks

John Hodnett

I have been tinkering with (Home Bank, KMyMoney, Money Manager EX) I prefer Home bank but it lacks the feature of tracking investments and personal assets. For a start I guess adding personal appreciating and depreciating assets would do, as it would compensate for the lack of tracking stocks partially with some manual work.

I am eagerly waiting for this feature to be implemented.

Keep up the good work.
