This error is due to a change in Ant 1.8.1 which removes the ant-trax.jar from the distribution as TRaX is now included in the Java Runtime Environment.

This is easily resolved by adding ant-nodeps to DEB_ANT_JARS in debian/rules to include the required classes.

This bug was fixed in the package groovy - 1.7.0-3ubuntu2

---------------
groovy (1.7.0-3ubuntu2) natty; urgency=low

  * Updated debian/rules to include ant-nodeps to fix FTBFS (LP: #687974).
