colourname simultaneously "is not available" and is "Available from the 'universe' source"

Thanks for the report - this is because the pkgname is being translated, ie in en_gb the pkgname is being translated to 'colourname' which can not be found as the real pkgname is 'colorname'. I've fixed s-c not to translate the 'X-AppInstall-Package' field. This affects a selection of apps, differing per language. It may be worthwhile sru'ing to 3.0.

This bug was fixed in the package software-center - 3.1.0

I have exactly the same problem when trying to install 'Calibre' via Software Centre 3.0.5 on Ubuntu 10.10

Eternal loop of 'Available from the "universe" source' and a button to 'Update Now'.

Any solution? Can I install from the terminal as a short-term work-around?

Hi Adam! This is fixed in natty, but in maverick (10.10) you can indeed work around this by running 'sudo apt-get install calibre' from the terminal.
