Bug Description
In Maverick, the kubuntu-desktop metapackage does not seem to depend on polkit-kde-1. As a result, I encountered several authentication issues (kpackagekit, qapt-batch) until I realized that this package was missing.
I was using ubuntu-desktop and decided to give kubuntu a try simply by typing:
sudo apt-get install kubuntu-desktop
It installed KDE but not polkit-kde-1 and thus the system was not entirely usable. I believe that a package dependency should be added.
affects: | kubuntu-meta (Ubuntu) → kdebase-workspace (Ubuntu) |
To post a comment you must log in.
It's on the CD (grep http:// releases. ubuntu. com/kubuntu/ maverick/ kubuntu- 10.10-rc- desktop- amd64.manifest)
It gets installed by kdebase- workspace- bin which Recommends: polkit-kde-1 | policykit-1-gnome so maybe you already had policykit-1-gnome installed?
It should still work with policykit-1-gnome installed but maybe there are problems there, it won't be much tested.
