"Log off, restart, shutdown, (...)" window not centered

Bug Description

When I click the system's exit button, a multiple choice window appears (Log off, lock screen, switch user, ...), but this window is not really centered on my screen.

My resolution is 1024x768.

I don't know how to make a screenshot of it, because gnome-screenshot does nothing with that window on top...

It is just a cosmetic issue.

Thanks for your bug. What version of Ubuntu do you use? You can do a screenshot by using gdmflexiserver --xnest

Hi,

I am using Ubuntu 6.06.1 in a laptop (if I'm not wrong, I think in my desktop have a similar behaviour, but I don't have access to it now).
I include an attachment, as you can see, the logout screen is in more in the bottom-right corner, than in the real center.

Thank you very much, hope it helps.

This bug is still prevalent in gutsy final. IMO, the priority should be higher since everyone sees the logout screen. It doesn't look right.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. The issue that you reported is one that should be reproducible with the live environment of the Desktop CD of the development release - Hardy Heron. It would help us greatly if you could test with it so we can work on getting it fixed in the next release of Ubuntu. You can find out more about the development release at [WWW] http://www.ubuntu.com/testing/ . Thanks again and we appreciate your help.

I could not get an screenshot while pressing the power down button, but I've managed to get one with VMWare that clearly shows this behavior.
On my desktop computer it is not that bad, but on a laptop I have is even worse than in the attached screenshot. I think how bad you see it depends on which is your screen size, but I am not sure about it.

I used Ubuntu 8.04 Alpha 4 (live cd), but it happens the same to me since Ubuntu changed the default shutdown window from Gnome, in both live session or installed. I can reproduce this, with different but similar results in multiple computers and Ubuntu releases.

The debdiff was screwed up, sorry. I've attached the fixed 11_session_dialog.patch instead.

I added

gtk_window_set_position (GTK_WINDOW (dialog->dialog), GTK_WIN_POS_CENTER_ALWAYS);

at ~line 490 between gtk_window_set_title (GTK_WINDOW (dialog->dialog), _("Exit")); and gtk_dialog_set_has_separator (GTK_DIALOG (dialog->dialog), FALSE);

This was inspired by r10815 of gnome panel (http://svn.gnome.org/viewvc/gnome-panel/trunk/gnome-panel/panel-logout.c?r1=10758&r2=10815). This was to make the logout dialogue in vanilla GNOME appear in the centre of the screen.
