Bug Description

Binary package hint: ubiquity

I'm doing ongoing work with generating preseed files to perform unattended installs (using automatic-ubiquity) for all releases of Ubuntu since 7.10. In Jaunty, I noticed that a new option needs to be preseeded to allow automatic-ubiquity to work: user-setup/encrypt-home.

Ideally a default should be set for this, either false or true. Right now, if I don't preseed it, I get the setup wizard page for setting username, password, etc.

cjwatson claims that there is a better way this should be resolved, but I'll let him go into that. I'm just reporting from my POV.

This bug was fixed in the package ubiquity - 1.11.9

---------------
ubiquity (1.11.9) jaunty; urgency=low

  [ Colin Watson ]
  * Don't show the "Who are you?" page just because the auto-login or
    encrypt-home questions are asked and not preseeded (LP: #328281).

  [ Evan Dandrea ]
  * Show the time to the left of the selected time zone city if the text
    would otherwise extend past the right edge.
  * Only select cities that are in the same UTC offset as where the mouse
    clicked.

  [ Mario Limonciello ]
  * Remove hdhomerun-config related items from mythbuntu frontend.
  * Make graphics page optional - only present if options other
    than open source driver present.
  * Port all mythbuntu bash scripts to python.
  * debian/control:
    - Drop depends on restricted-manager
    - Add depends for python-xkit
  * Automatic update of included source packages: base-installer
    1.98ubuntu2, grub-installer 1.36ubuntu2, hw-detect 1.71ubuntu4,
    partman-base 128ubuntu7.

---------------
oem-config (1.54.6) jaunty; urgency=low

  * Only call setxkbmap if DISPLAY is set.
  * Don't show the "Who are you?" page just because the auto-login question
    is asked and not preseeded (LP: #328281).
  * Handle user-setup's new weak password detection.
  * Add forgotten oem-config/text/network_heading_label template.
  * Add a "tasks" component (only usable in the debconf frontend at the
    moment) that runs tasksel.
  * Check whether /usr/lib/network-manager/ifblacklist_migrate.sh exists
    before running it.
  * Fix copying of debian-installer/framebuffer to /target in
    oem-config-udeb: debconf-dumpdb returns "(null)" as the value if the
    question has never been set.
  * Automatic update of included source packages: user-setup 1.23ubuntu12.
