Bug Description

Binary package hint: virt-manager

virt-manager, 0.5.4-2ubuntu1, in the soon to be released Intrepid doesn't ungrab mouse with ctrl-alt as stated in window.

This is true for all tested versions of virtualized MS Windows (2003,2008 server). Once mouse grabbed by Windows it's impossible to get it out of Windows. The only remaining thing to do is to shutdown the virtualized Windows machine, then mouse will come back.

This is far from optimal as kvm, and virt-manager is vital parts for virtualization on Ubuntu, and if this is not fixed before release the will follow loads of dups on this :)

I see this too. Intrepid guests seem to be ok, but win2k and Hardy guests don't ungrab. Need to 'Ctrl+Alt+F2' to console, then do 'virsh shutdown <vm name>'. After the machine shuts down, the cursor is released.

Downgrading to 0.3.6-2ubuntu2 fixes the problem.

To be more specific, downgrading both libgtk-vnc-1.0-0 and python-gtk-vnc to 0.3.6-2ubuntu2 fixes the problem, but vinagre Depends on 0.3.7 (and vinagre is part of ubuntu-desktop).

Thanks John-- I managed to find that and am uploading a patched version presently.

Uploaded using attached debdiff. Patch is small and is tested to work with Dapper, Gutsy, Hardy, Intrepid and Windows 2008 Server guests as well as introducing no regressions with vinagre.
