Bug Description
Binary package hint: vlc
Linking with libncurses*w* (wide characters) is needed for unicode support.
The output given when using french locale is borked since libncurses doesn't support unicode.
Attached patch makes the build depend on it, it is automatically picked up by vlc's configure if available.
Debian package suffers from the same problem
