I used the program once, and it was fine. Then the next time it opened, I got the message attached below. When I click on any of the buttons, the application closes.

I didn't see the bug listed previously, my apologies for starting a new thread. I'm assuming there's still no resolution...?
Elisabeth Titulaer (withns) wrote : | #6 |
I ended up deleting and have not reloaded it to try again
tmodes (tmodes) wrote : | #7 |
If it worked the first time you could try to delete the created preferences file. On Mac the settings should be stored in /Users/

I looked for it too. I don’t even see a plist file with hugin in it, not sure what else it would be called, but nothing around the the date I last opened it or opened it the first time.
Any suggestions?

I'm not on Mac, so I can't check for myself. But according to the documentation the preferences file should be stored in the mentioned directory.
Maybe a Mac user can help you further.
RYAN S BARTELS (lightadrenaline) wrote : | #10 |
Correct. I just can't find a plist I can associate with Hugin? Is there a URL that would list the preference file names created?
Thanks!

Hugin is not using a plist AFAIK, it is using a plain text file.
The text file is accessed via wxWidgets class wxConfigBase (http://

Here is the location of Hugin's preferences file on Mac OS X:
In Finder press shift+cmd+G (the "go to folder..." command from the "Go to..." menu).
In the dialog type
~/Library/
and press the "open" button.
In this folder you will find a file named "hugin Preferences". That's a file without an extension but it's a plain text file that you can view with e.g. BBEdit available from barebones.com (TextWrangler was the free version but in future BBEdit will be available with a standard feature set without a fee).
Make sure Hugin isn't open and then either rename, move or delete this file to make Hugin start with default prefs.

Regarding the "debug" window confusing users from time to time:
If Hugin shows that dreaded "Debug" window: please take your time to read the message before you blindly press the default button (or Enter/Return).
From memory: the message says that you can stop that window from reappearing when you press a certain button. Try that one...
RYAN S BARTELS (lightadrenaline) wrote : | #14 |
Yep, did. It shuts down and I get "Hugin unexpectedly quit" regardless of button. That's why I was asking.
I couldn't remember how to enter the preferences with the command code. Thanks for that. I will try at the office tomorrow.
Thanks!

The method proposed by Zarl worked! I couldn’t remember how to get the the other preferences area and this is it. Deleting the Hugin file, emptying trash and relaunching seems to have worked.
Thanks so much! Now I can actually give it a try!

The underlying problem should be now fixed in repository.

You'll need to add a proper error message.
Your screenshot shows a "hugin.xml" file. Click on that and "view" (or open, whatever works for you) the file. Attach the content (or the file itself) to this bug.
