thank you for your bug report, that works fine here so might depends on timing or devices ... does it work in the gtk fileselector (e.g in gedit -> open) or does it do the same?

Changed in nautilus (Ubuntu):
importance: Undecided → Low
status: Confirmed → Incomplete

Sebastian, I'm not the original reporter of the bug but I'm also seeing this problem in a live session of Ubuntu GNOME and my Ubuntu install.

Yes, I do see this issue in the gtk fileselector, gedit and LibreOffice are just two of the applications affected. So marking this bug as "Confirmed".

Yeah - any app that uses the open file dialog showing Other Location also fails to open it.

So obviously not a nautilus bug. Maybe? glib as downgrading glib to 2.49.5-1 allows the Other Location to work in all uses.

I'm reassigning this from (nautilus and glib2.0) to (gtk+3.0 and glib2.0) because upgrading gtk+3.0 to 3.21.5 also fixes this and downgrading back to yakkety's gtk+3.0 brings the bug back.

Therefore, I believe this bug can be fixed in either GTK or glib.

affects: nautilus (Ubuntu) → gtk+3.0 (Ubuntu)

I get this error on the command line when I click "Other Locations":

sys:1: Warning: g_cclosure_marshal_VOID__VOID: assertion 'n_param_values == 1' failed

A no-change rebuild of gtk+3.0 in my PPA didn't help.
