Bug Description
I would like to update Xenial version of gnome-panel to a new upstream microrelease, 3.18.3.
Apart from translations updates, it fixes two bugs:
* User switching now works correctly when using GDM as display manager (the LightDM code was not changed). This only affects gnome-panel's own session menu, not indicator-session which is used by default.
A test case for this issue is:
- Start GNOME Flashback session from GDM.
- Try to select the Switch User action from gnome-panel's session menu.
- GDM screen with user selection should appear, with ability to restore the previous session.
Upstream bug for this issue is https:/
* The scaling support was disabled in GTK+ to improve the experience on HiDPI displays.
A test case for this issue is:
- Try to run GNOME Flashback session on a HiDPI display, i.e. on new Apple machines.
A package has been uploaded to ppa:ubuntu-
Upstream changelog is available at https:/
Regression potential: the fixes are minimal so should not cause any regressions.
All fixes in this release are applied also in 3.20.1, which is in Yakkety.

Status changed to 'Confirmed' because the bug affects multiple users.
