Messages with a trailing CR are not displayed properly in the main list

Bug Description
Normally a long message is truncated and "..." is shown to indicate its longer than the box.
When the message ends with a CR it is not truncated and the text extends to the end f the screen, and is shown underneath the new message count.
Not reproducible on krillin, only arale
