Bug Description
Binary package hint: update-manager
The no longer supported software dialog is confusing because it lists software that's been renamed, e.g at least gaim and presumably also cdrecord 'as no longer supported and should/will be removed'. The user whose laptop I was upgrading was particularly paniced about losing gaim because they rely on it to be able to do their job.

Thanks for your bugreport and sorry that this caused panic.
This is fixed in my bzr tree and will be part of the next upload. The demotion calculation now correctly takes replaces into account. Gaim and cdrecord now correctly vanished from the list.
Cheers,
Micahel
