Bug Description

I've noticed this on the quantal-20120924 image for both i386 and amd64
When selecting manual partitioning, and creating an encrypted volume, an error dialog box pops up after creating the partition. It does not inhibit installation, but the errors seem to stack when you create additional encrypted volumes. After creating the first one, I get this error once for the one I just created. Upon creating a second encrypted volume, I get the error message an additional 2 times for the first partition, and a 3rd time for the one I just created.

Here's the full text:

Partition in use
No modifications can be made to the partition #5 of device SCSI1 (0,0,0) (sda) for the following reasons:
In use as a physical volume for encrypted volume sda5_crypt

I can see how that can be highly annoying. Will silence them all. As clearly they are "warning boxes" not useful messages for the user.

Getting partman-base/partlocked indicates a logic error somewhere, and isn't just a warning.

This bug was fixed in the package ubiquity - 2.12.4

---------------
ubiquity (2.12.4) quantal; urgency=low

  * Do not offer to remove partitions nor create partition table on the
    loop mounted devices. (LP: #1055640)
  * Skip locked partitions when rebuilding cache, in a similar way as
skipping free disk space, by sniffing locked file in the partman
device tree. Remove locked flag, otherwise. (LP: #1055819)
  * Hide mount combo, instead of making it insensitive to reduce clutter
in the add/edit partition dialog. (LP: #1055815)
  * Automatic update of included source packages: flash-kernel
    3.0~rc.4ubuntu25, grub-installer 1.78ubuntu3.
