Well, read aloud on Jeff's machine failed in the same way it failed on the QA machine, so without thinking too hard, I applied the same fix. Jeff had OS X 10.6.0, so I modified SoundManager2 to disable html5 audio for Safari on all versions of OS X 10.6. Before, only 10.6.3 and 10.6.4 were being treated as broken..
We don't have a great amount of test coverage on this. What about on OS X 10.5? And updating soundmanager means retesting read aloud on all platforms. Also, it is hard to get Safari to force reload of the new soundmanager swfs, even though it loads the new js....
