I checked the kernel from the SuSE system (the one I mentioned in the duplicate bug) and it's version 2.6.16.60-0.21-default. That's the one that I'm sure has no boot delay. However, it was booted from CD in a live environment I think and it might not have all the ACPI in it like a full install would have. I don't have the hard drive space, nor the physical disc to install and test with that kernel. Maybe one of the kernel devs can get his/her hands on the kernel configuration. The kernel belongs to SuSE Enterprise Dekstop 10.

If the current 'fix' is used instead, would it matter much if the delay could be brought back to a minimum, like maybe 250 ms or lower? I find 1000 ms still quite a long wait considering how long systems that don't have this faulty DSDT wait (the don't at all or very short).
