Bug Description
Binary package hint: libsane
Hi,
Lots of Ubuntu users have troubles with usb scanners, because most of them needs firmware files, but Ubuntu doesn't distribute these files :(
For example our company has Trust Direct Webscan 19200 scanner, wich works fine with gt68xx sane backend, but only when I download Mustek firmware from http://
Mustek firmware is freely redistributable, according to the authors of gt68xx-backend (look at http://
If there are some different firmware files, which should have same name, then we should provide debconf wizard and alternatives mechanizm to choose (make symlink to) needed file in /usr/share/

It would be nice to include Mustek scanners firmware into Baltix GNU/Linux as default, I think :)
