BTW, I don't recommend running sudo make install on e2fsprogs. When I attempted to reboot, the system didn't recognise the new fsck and hence would only mount root in read-only mode. (Oddly enough, fsck still ran fine.) I had to boot from a live CD, chroot to my broken partition, and reinstall e2fsprogs and util-linux using apt-get. e4defrag still runs fine by itself.
