Either that or we just need to keep adding redundant bug reports for the same bug every time a new ubuntu version is released without fixing this. The ALPS multitouch trackpad is a very common device and this issue has been more or less ignored. If someone could just figure out a way to turn off tap-to-click even without full support of the device, then the most irritating part of this would go away. Instead we're told it will never be fixed, not even in LTS ubuntu distros. I guess that says it all regarding ubuntu support. It's time for me to get past the hype and begin investigating something beyond ubuntu to get my hardware working. At least it served it's purpose as a Linux gateway drug for me.
