Comment 17 for bug 274424

I've the same problem of popi31: no sound from jaunty. So, I've tried this solution: added

options snd-hda-intel model=3stack-dig
options snd-hda-intel enable_msi=1
options snd-hda-intel single_cmd=1

to the config file "/etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf" and ran

sudo alsa reload

from gnome-terminal, but no sound!! :(
