Comment 4 for bug 1421923

I was thinking... would there be a workaround using the cron daemon ? I can imagine apps are not allowed to set up crontabs and need SO hooks support to come back alive... but maybe users can manually run set up a cron job that wakes the application and fetches emails. It would be nice if it then would notify them in the notification bar...
