Better way of dealing with moved Zim wiki files needed

Linux & Windows
If I move the default Zim wiki files (or loose access to the current stored location, etc...) Zim doesn't make any attempts to let me open another Zim wiki file, or change the location setting of the default Zim wiki, or let me cancel starting up Zim. When started from Windows it say "No such file: ...", and Linux repeatedly pops up a dialog box that keeps popping up even if I close it. (even tried kill -9, and killall on it)
Zim should prompt that it can't find what it's looking for, and prompt to either cancel starting up Zim, or to open another Zim wiki, or to start a new Zim wiki.
