Binary package hint: unity

See the screenshot. This happened straight after booting. I took the screenshot with gnome-screenshot. Running compiz --replace fixed the problem.

I am also getting strange white lines.

Using the open source ati driver.

I'm seeing this on the Dash now. I haven't seen it on the launcher for some time.

I had the same issue and realized I was on the vesa driver. Now I've changed to radeon and instead of the same lines you are seeing I now see a sequence of white blocks at the top of the dash itself.

If this is a driver issue, it appears to be something that unity is doing when drawing various sections of the dash and launcher that affects different parts of multiple drivers.

Sorry, forgot to include that running "compiz --replace" also removes these for me.
