/host mount location is not obvious

Bug Description
I just talked to a user who was unable to find his mswin filesystem, and I've heard similar stories before.
It seems the default mountpoint /host is not particularly obvious, and could do with a bit of advertising.
As far as I can tell, this mount doesn't get displayed either in the file browser, not on the desktop, is this the current case or was this particular user experiencing a bug in them not showing?
If this is the current case, what is the reason it isn't advertised in these both places?
