Bug Description
I tried to install ubuntu 9.04 inside of windows XP (latest) using a ubuntu 9.04 CD purchased from canonical shop. first several error dialogs pop up:
http://
click continue several times...
click install, apparently it works fine, reboot.
the real problem is that there is no option for booting to ubuntu, you are never given a choice and it boots directly to windows.
check the control panel, and the ubuntu icon is shown there, there is a ubuntu folder inside C: but nothing happens. uninstall works fine, but if a person that is new to linux is given one of these cd's and tries to install it, that person is going to think that the cd is broken!!
I gave cd's to several friends and they told me about this problem and then I tried it myself, and unfortunately is true.

Can you please submit the wubi log in your user temp folder?
Also check that there is a Ubuntu entry in C:\boot.ini and that you have write access to it (the file could be hidden).
