Invisible indicator

Hi,
we need to know exactly when this happens or what may be causing it, so we need a list of additional indicators you installed, or programms that may add Appindicators(like Transmission, Synapse...)

I think VLC indicator is what is messing everything, but i cant reproduce the exact behavior for this to happens, it seems random. The idicator of VLC shows well in wingpanel when i open it. I also use transmission and jdownloader, can be a java problem maybe.

This bug can be easily reproduced with the recordmydesktop app.

With recent upgrades, I can't reproduce anymore with recordmydesktop. For that app, indicator is now shown as expected.

Can anyone still reproduce this problem?

It's happening for me again with recordmydesktop.

Here are a few packages that can cause this:
recordmydesktop
skype
spotify

Of these three, Spotify and Skype are probably the hardest hitters.

The "ghost" indicators tend to show up after a wingpanel restart. Another wingpanel restart usually fixes them but they like showing up very frequently.

If this helps, it tends to happen when something quits unexpectedly.

A major code overhaul has occurred. We need new reports because of that.

I have the same problem, using screencloud (free soft) ...
how can i contribute to fix this bug/issue ?

I think it's gone as bug 1058652 is fixed.
