Bug Description

wicd failed to connect since upgrade to kernel 2.6.31 to WPA2 network with hidden ssid because of hardcoded scan_ssid=0,
replacing with scan_ssid=1 fixes problem

btw: latest changes on ath9k (or *80211 drivers) causes wicd to detect WPA2 network as WEP in ioctl mode (no cell["ie"] anymore?)

I forgot to mention I have ath9k wifi card and wpa_supplicant-0.6.4 in case of "works for me")

Actually, from what I have seen, the ioctl backend couldn't find a WPA-encrypted network for some time, with iwl3945 or ath5k.

actually when wicd is updated or linux to kernel 2.6.31-1 wicd on automatic doesn't work, can't detect any wireless wpa or wep...
i have wicd on a debian squeeze with a intel 3945 card so i don't use ioctl to athenticate my wifi to wpa

any patch?

Its been a long time, and the ap_scan logic has been changed. This works, for me now, so I think we can close this if you retest with the latest bleeding edge version.
