[eBay] app confusingly suggests that I "Download the app" or "Open in app"

Bug Description
Ubuntu 14.10 r203
1. Launch the eBay app for the first time.
What you see: A ribbon across the top saying "Download the app - Open in app". Clicking either of these goes to an error page.
What you should see: No such invitations.
There's a close button at the end of the ribbon, so I guess this could be fixed by pre-seeding whatever cookie that close button sets.
